Map iT

MapMyRun.com is a cool tool for calculating different stats regarding your workout. If you have used Google Pedometer, it is similar with a few more features. I suggest going straight to the Route Creation Tool.

iYost

OnMilwaukee.com, a great source for Milwaukee's current happenings, had a bit about Ned Yost this past week. Looks like he's an Apple guy...nice! It's times like these, I'm glad he's on our team. Oh yeah...and when they're winning too.

Although he wasn't camping out front of the Apple Store, he does mention in the article that he was hoping to get a hold of one on day 2.

What's Up...doc!

What is the Doctor doing after the nurse takes all of the vitals and asks all of the standards? When the nurse leaves and says, "The doctor will be right in to see you", you better be ready to sit in silence for 20-25 minutes. It feels like the DMV. Why are doctor offices so inefficient? You need to set aside at least two hours for any type of visit, regardless of the severity.

I think they should work on tips?

What Fits In Our Head?

Raymond Kurzweil estimates the brain has 1.25 terabytes of functional memory. This got me thinking about what we could fit in our head.

Sheets Or Sabathia (S.O.S)

I hear S.O.S. calls from opponents already.

Can the Sabathia-Sheets combo push the crew into the playoffs? I'm not sure. I do know that I would not want to face the crew in the postseason, if they do manage to make an appearance. I can't imagine that facing both of them twice in a series, is any teams idea of a favorable mach up.

Not to mention, Parra and Bush haven't been a couple of slouches as of late themselves. That sets up McClung, Villanueva, and my favorite, Mr. Brian Shouse, setting up for Salomon Torres. Sounds solid on paper.

So much for the quality pitching staffs the Brewers time and time again put together in the 90's. Look out Cubbies. I smell another let down.

What's The Argument?

They are better with him than they are without...period.

Summerfest '08

I made it to Summerfest twice this year, and I have to say that Milwaukee gets Summerfest right.

I went on the first Saturday, and caught a little bit of Dashboard Confessional. The atmosphere was alive and curious. This is my second time seeing them, and I wasn’t as impressed as I was the first time. He seemed to be a little spent, but overall it was a good night.

State Radio opened up my Tuesday night. I caught the encore and got exactly what I was expecting; a laid-back atmosphere with a similar sound done well. O.A.R. was my main attraction this year at the big gig. I’ve had good intentions to see them in the past but haven’t been able to make it happen. The show again was good packed with high energy.

I am pleased with how affordable the event is in general. $15 to get through the door is not a bad price at all considering the entertainment that they bring to the stages. A $5 beer reminded me I wasn’t Eden anymore, but it still is quite a bit cheaper than consuming the same beverage at Miller Park. It did seem food prices were a bit high, but dining wasn’t my motivation to attend the event.

Dentist or Hygienist

I'm bringing this back from a previous short-lived blog I started in 2005.

"Who is better at cleaning teeth, the Dentist or the Hygienist?"

Leave your initial thoughts in the comments. I'll update with my thoughts in a bit.

hmmm...

I just started using this online tool. It can integrate with twitter to keep track of your driving habits. Send a text with a little info, and it tracks the stats automatically.

To make you feel even more sick to your stomach, it predicts how much you will spend during your next year of filling up at your current rate.
